29 Clues You’ve Been Bitten By The Travel Bug

So you’ve gone on your first trip? You’ve barely made it out of the arrivals lounge and you’re already desperate to get back on a plane to… well, anywhere. Yep, that’s right, you’ve been well and truly bitten by the travel bug! Still not sure? Here’s 29 ways to tell if you’ve got the bug…

  1. You think about travel, ALL THE TIME!
  2. When you spend money, you think of what that could get you in travel – £50 on a bus pass? Psh, that’s a week’s accommodation in Barcelona
  3. You start planning your next trip before you’ve even finished your current trip
  4. Your phone is full of travel sites and apps
  5. You work purely to fund your travels
  6. Your social media is crammed full of travel blogs, photos and travel related things
  7. You use every second of your holiday from work to travel – 3 days off? Italy it is…
  8. You spend all of your time daydreaming about different travel itineraries
  9. You have MAJOR withdrawal symptoms to travel once you’ve been home more than 24 hours
  10. You’ve got a box full of old tickets and travel souvenirs
  11. Your travel bucket list includes at least 80% of the world
  12. Your heart beats faster and you can’t stop smiling when someone talks about travel or you find a new travel deal
  13. There is no better feeling than booking your next trip
  14. Your best piece of advice to answer ANY question, is travel
  15. You find a way of bringing travel into basically every conversation… did I mention that time I went to China?
  16. You can’t imagine life without travel
  17. You can’t remember life before your first trip
  18. You get weirdly excited about ‘boring’ travel accessories and backpacks!
  19. You get at least 10 emails a day from various travel companies offering you deals
  20. You find these email deals unbelievably hard to say no to
  21. When you can’t accept a certain travel offer, you try to convince yourself that you can… “of course I can visit Australia, Thailand and Canada all in 4 days, look at that price!”
  22. You can’t understand the people who don’t want to travel
  23. You have a love/hate relationship with airports – yes they mean you’re going on an adventure, but hours of waiting, especially after you’ve been travelling for a while, is VERY VERY boring.
  24. You hate when countries don’t stamp your passport… it takes 4 seconds, come on!
  25. Almost every conversation will remind you of something to do with travelling
  26. You’re jealous of people who are travelling, even if you’ve just got back or are currently travelling yourself – just because you’re in Thailand doesn’t mean you can’t be jealous of that friend in Sri Lanka
  27. If there was a way to be in multiple countries at one time, you’d do it
  28. You’ve mastered the whole flying malarky – neck pillow, check, headphones, check, endless snacks, check
  29. You’ve trained yourself to sleep ANYWHERE

What would you add to this list? When did the travel bug bite you?
