Moving On

I can write poems all day

about blue eyes

and how they make me feel

but that’d get boring after a while

I can write poems all day

about sadness and betrayal

and how they have affected me

but I’d soon run out of material

I can write poems all day

about being the underdog

and how it has changed me

but soon I’ll be on top

I can write poems all day

about missed opportunities

and how i regret having missed them

but then for new ones, I won’t be free

I can write poems all day

about how fleeting things will act

and how I love when they’re gone and miss them after too long

but, again, they will all be back
